Round 1 kicked off for all men’s, women’s and junior teams on Saturday 6th October. The senior men’s teams completed a “bluewash”, the 1st grade women had a great win at Price against Northern Districts and the juniors split the results with 2 wins each against Adelaide. Highlights for the weekend included a fantastic 219 opening partnership by Matthew Hayden and Jack Anglberger in the 4th grade, with Matt scoring 113 and Jack 81. The 2nd grade dominated East Torrens with Fraser Durham starring with the ball taking 5 for 6 off 9 overs. The two Maxes, Schlicker and Parker completed a 172 run partnership with Max Schlicker not out on 94 and Max Parker out for 95. Brad Davis continued his early season Premier League form with another century in the 1st grade setting up the victory. In the Women’s 1st grade Alex Price produced a great all round performance top scoring with 49 and then taking 5 for 23 off 8 overs. In the junior grades Mason O’Callaghan has bowled Sturt to victory against Adelaide in the under 14 whites taking 5 for 5 off 5 overs.
